New Host and Closed Beta Update!

We have a new server host. He can forward ports, which means no more Hamachi. Please give a warm welcome to the new host, his username here is Kenny.

Anyway, to be compatible with the new IP, here's an updated version of the closed beta client.

Since I'm not hosting, I can't put the server status in these topics anymore, but Kenny tells me the server will be up around 99% of the time. So for now, you can assume that it's online.

There's a few changes in there, mostly bugfixes:

-When getting a game over, the battle HUD should go away now.
-You can enter Fort Crystallo without fear of being trapped again.
-The HP Spray item will only heal you once now, as is the way it is supposed to be.
-There are mountains in the background of the menu screen now.

Still unresolved:
-There is still no level 15 Neutral Warrior, sorry.
-That glitch that makes your character jump to the left side of the screen is still in, I've had a hard time fixing that.

Not a lot, but the biggest difference is in who's hosting it. Anyway, you will have to register again, but it will be worth it.

Also, because it's a new host, do not use your forum password to register for an in-game account. I think Kenny is a trustworthy host who won't meddle with your password, but in case something does happen to your forum account, I'd rather eliminate him as a possible culprit, as he's doing something nice for us.

So far I have connected greatly.
But I have not seen any other players, so I can't say anything about the lag.

I'm not good at connecting for some reason. Lag and a clone, not too good. Also a lot of wall glitches. I managed to get out most of the time.

Sorry about that, I'm trying to find a workaround for those. :/

Maybe have it check for a duplicate, having all the same stats, that moves at the same time you do?
And maybe if you leave the room boundaries you go to the door you came in from?

I don't think the dups work that way, somehow... What about refreshing all the players, and if the character is not connected to a working IP, get rid of it? I dunno. That doesn't look right to me either...

Managed to get on just fine a little after I originally posted. Although, like Coin3 said, I was alone and could not judge lag and whatnot. However only a couple of glitches happened, but nothing too big.

hmm. The clone appeared to have another players name, and when I entered a boss battle it displayed him as another player, but only my blows hit the boss. The clone's HP went down, but so did mine. I don't think it was at the same rate tho.

If that happens again, get on the IRC and let Kenneth know (assuming he's on, but most of the time he is) so he can reboot the server.

I am also having problems loggin in.

I'm having trouble registering, haha.

It's because of a bug in the server that I still need to fix. In the meantime, if you can't seem to log on or register, tell Kenny/Kenneth about it on the IRC.

I will now be downloading this game every night. (Shh!)

brainee1 you know how to make it so that files can be hidden right? well just hide to file and only allow hidden files to be seen when playing it
