They would act like the M.O.D.; roaming the map at random. The different being that villains would leave bad players alone, and heroes would be docile good and neutral players. What's more, heroes would even assist in battles against villains if nearby. They would be server sided as well, so multiple players could fight them at once.

Villains:

M.O.D. (Master of Dimensions)
Spawnpoint: Abandoned Shack
Sprite:
Heroes and Villains. 125qjva

Heroes:

Bartholomew
Spawnpoint: Fort Granatt

Sounds good. It's a unique feature and will add stuff to do.

Seems a little unbalanced for Neutral players... maybe Villains would leave Neutrals alone too?

It doesn't make much sense, but it makes it a lot more balanced.

Unbalanced? Please explain how. The bad players have one category that'll leave them alone, the good players have one category that'll leave them alone... what do you want? A "Sort-of-okay" category that leaves Neutral players alone?

the villains only ignore bad players, and the heroes ignore both good and neutral players

i.e. unbalanced

read my previous post for a way to fix it

And then nothing attacks neutral players, thus making it unbalanced for everyone else. Well, none of these events. Unless... Unless neutrals are given an automatic disadvantage just by being neutral. Then the events are balanced. (Nothing ELSE is, but at least the events are.)

I think it's fine the way it is. It makes sense, and it's pretty well balanced. Good guys aren't supposed to be aggro anyways.

EDIT: By the way, I'm on the IRC right now. (6:53am, GMT-8:00, August 15, 2009)

alternatively, neutrals could join battles on either side

I must say, you have a point there. That would be quite fair, provided they have a choice on whether to fight or not. But the downside to this privilige, is that no other event will come to their aid?

well, they would be on one side

so if they fought a villain, good guys would help

if they fought a hero, bad guys would help

I suppose. It still seems to me that neutrals are getting the big piece of the pie, but maybe that's just me. I have voiced my opinion, you have voiced yours. Let that be enough for now.

you know this should be simple D:

villain bad guys will attack both neutral and good
neutral undecided guys will attack both bad and good
hero good guys will attack both bad and neutral

the end

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but the neutral guys aren't really evil, they just aren't doing anything really good either. It doesn't seem so heroic for a hero to be picking fights with players who are mostly innocent. At the same time, for a villain to leave any innocent player alone just doesn't cut it either. That's the reason I decided the way I did. I suppose it seems a little off-balanced, but still... Anyway, giving neutral players the choice seems unfair as well. After all, good and bad players cannot choose who wants to kill them, why should neutral players be allowed to choose to dodge the bullet or fight, regardless of who is in question. The only fair way to do it that I can see is that it might be based on your reputation; the more favorable you are on one side determines whether you will be attacked by a hero or a villain when you are neutral. How about that?

that sounds good

however on the other note i remember watching a movie once about angels demons and neutral guys and the neutral guy was pretty mean to the good guy at times
